Ozone
Ozonated water is used to launder clothes and to
sanitize food, drinking water, and surfaces in the home.
wow

According to the FDA, it is "amending the food additive regulations
to provide for the safe use of ozone in gaseous and aqueous phases
as an antimicrobial agent on food, including meat and poultry."
wow

Studies at California Polytechnic University demonstrated that 0.3 ppm levels of
ozone dissolved in filtered tapwater can produce a reduction of more than 99.99%
in such food-borne microorganisms as
Salmonella, E. coli 0157:H7, and Campylobacter.

Industrially Ozone is used to:
In-other-words... Ozone used in a big way... rather than a small way as in the home.

Disinfect laundry in hospitals, food factories, care homes etc.

Disinfect water in place of Chlorine.
wow ~ Wikipedia finally says... it replaces Chlorine.

Deodorize air and objects, such as after a fire.
This process is extensively used in Fabric Restoration.

Wash fresh fruits and vegetables to kill yeast, mold and bacteria.

Chemically attack contaminants in water (iron, arsenic, hydrogen sulfide,
nitrites, and complex organics lumped together as colour).
wow

Provide an aid to flocculation (agglomeration of molecules, which aids in
filtration, where the iron and arsenic are removed).

Manufacture chemical compounds via chemical synthesis.

Clean and bleach fabrics (the former use is utilized in Fabric Restoration;
the latter use is patented).

Ozone is created in nature when "normal" Oxygen (O2) is subjected to a high voltage charge
in the form of lightning or to Ultra-Violet (UV) Light in the atmosphere. The exposure
to electricity or UV light breaks the Oxygen (O2) molecule apart into two
individual oxygen (O) atoms. These "free" oxygen atoms
temporarily bond to the remaining
Oxygen (O2) molecules
to form Ozone
(O3).

These extra atoms of oxygen break away as cleaners... natural cleaners.
When you are personally cleaner... you feel better.

Yes... Ozone is a natural cleaner and better than anything else.
It has that extra atom of Oxygen... just like the smell after a lightning storm.
Ozone cleans your body inside and out... and even cleans your home too.

Ozone can be used to remove pesticide residues from fruits and vegetables.
wow

New, patented technology uses ozone to disinfect and deodorize protective sports gear
by blowing it directly into the equipment to destroy bacteria within the padding.
This has proven particularly useful in battling the spread of MRSA.
wow

Ozone is used in homes and hot tubs to kill bacteria in the water and to reduce
the amount of Chlorine or Bromine required by reactivating them to their free state.
wow ~ They should have stated... it replaces Chlorine and other cleaning chemicals.

Since ozone does not remain in the water long enough, ozone by itself is ineffective
at preventing cross-contamination among bathers.
This is a funny way of saying... ozone doesn't work when it is turned OFF.
Ozone goes back to oxygen in a short time... it does not remain as ozone.

Ozone is a reagent in many organic reactions in the laboratory and in industry.
Ozonolysis is the cleavage of an alkene to carbonyl compounds.
wow

Many hospitals in the U.S. and around the world use large ozone generators to
decontaminate operating rooms between surgeries. The rooms are cleaned and
then sealed airtight before being filled with ozone which effectively kills or
neutralizes all remaining bacteria.
wow

Ozone is used as an alternative to Chlorine or Chlorine Dioxide in the bleaching
of wood pulp. It is often used in conjunction with oxygen and hydrogen peroxide
to eliminate the need for Chlorine-containing compounds in the manufacture of
high-quality, white paper.
